The Strider is a versatile beginner-friendly Vocation in Dragon's Dogma. They have access to Daggers, Bows and medium Armor and are suited to melee and physical ranged offensive roles. This Vocation is a starting Vocation. It's strong in both melee and ranged, yet is fragile and has no access to Magick, making any source of Magickal support, especially healing, vital.
Quick Strider Vocation Guide
- Your Job
Striders are a balanced mix of damage-per-second and disruptive techniques like flares, entanglements and stuns. They move quickly and can both scale enemies to hack at them with daggers or shoot at them from afar. They move and climb quickly and are well suited to fast playstyles and can use stealth, speed and trick-like tactical skills on mobs. Their focus on damage-per-second, rather than burst damage and stun, makes them extremely well suited for taking on large enemies and bosses and less so weak enemies.
- Skill Overview
- Dagger Skills: Their melee skills. Their highest damage skills lie here, as do many short-range flares and explosives to stun or cause debilitations which work well on mobs.
- Bow Skills: Their ranged skills. Less damaging yet ranged and fast, they have many multi-arrow abilities and explosive arrow techniques.
- Core Skills: Passive skills that improve or grant rolling or climbing abilities or improve their attack patterns.
- Augments: Passive skills that can be set regardless of current Vocation.

- Suggested Support
Considering their lack of burst damage and stun, alongside their fragility, a heavier melee ally to stun and take down weaker enemies and a Mage to heal are extremely helpful. A heavier-set melee Pawn may not be necessary if you're dealing enough damage that your lack of stunning ability doesn't much matter.

it should be prohibited to give strider and ranger pawns daggers, they just keep climbing up and down on big enemies, when it would be better to just use ranged attacks, since they have no clue to effectively assert the right situation to either melee or ranged
