Encumbrance is a Stat in Dragon's Dogma is a game mechanic in Dragon's Dogma that affects a character's mobility based on how much said character is carrying both in its inventory and as equipped items. All characters have varied maximum capacities based on their character weight. You may check pawn and character encumbrance status in the inventory menu. Encumbrance levels vary from "Very Light" to "Overencumbered", progressively reducing walk, run, and spring speed, and eventually preventing the character from picking up any more items or being able to combine items in their inventory.
