Shields are a Weapon type found in Dragon's Dogma wielded by Fighters and Assassins. Shields are defensive Weapons allowing characters to negate some damage inflicted on them. Blocking an attack at the precise moment it would have hit activates a Perfect Block, dealing damage to and knocking back attackers. Unlike Magick Shields, Shields have access to skills that allow the character to perform attacks while blocking. Visit Shield Skills for a full list.
